Better Beans. Better Coffee. Better Planet.

The Nabob Coffee Company has stood for ’Better Beans. Better Coffee.’ for over a century. Our quality promise has always been at the core of our mission, but now we’re raising the stakes. Today, our goal is nothing short of the complete transformation of what ‘Better Beans. Better Coffee.’ means to Canadians.

The journey from the farm to your cup is as important as the beans themselves. By choosing Nabob, you become a part of bringing quality beans to all Canadians.

Find out how Nabob brings you better beans in a better way.
Better Beans. Quality Coffee
Nabob is committed to providing you some of the best quality coffee you can buy. We’re very proud of what goes into every cup. And we believe that better quality coffee starts with the coffee beans and how they are grown.
Coffee Altitude
Nabob Arabica beans are grown and harvested between 800 and 2,000 m in altitude.
Arabica Content
Let’s begin with the beans. Nabob uses some of the highest grade of 100% Arabica beans, which according to coffee experts are the best.1 Nabob Arabica beans are grown and harvested between 800 and 2,000 m in altitude. The higher elevation slows the maturation of coffee beans, creating more coffee oils and enhancing flavour.2 So, when Nabob coffee beans are delicately harvested and roasted, they produce a rich, smooth and aromatic cup of coffee that’s delicious to the last sip.
Better Planet. Nabob Green Bean Initiative

Nabob Green Bean Initiative is our commitment to bringing you better quality coffee in every way.

Since 1896, Nabob has been obsessed with picking some of the best beans for our coffee. And now, we’re holding our beans to an even higher standard. Today, we believe our beans must be sustainably produced: in how they’re grown, how they’re harvested, and how they get to you. Join us on our journey and watch it all unfold.

Greener Beans

Nabob Coffee is made with sustainably cultivated beans and is available to all Canadians at a sensible price.

Right now, Nabob Coffee contains 60% Rainforest Alliance Certified™ beans3, but our ultimate goal is that one day 100% of all Nabob Coffee will be sustainably produced – from bean to brew.

As more coffee farms become Rainforest Alliance Certified™ – it’s only 1.3%4 of the world’s coffee supply right now – Nabob will also be able to increase its sourcing from responsibly managed farms.

Rainforest Alliance
Rainforest Alliance

Our collaboration with the Rainforest Alliance ensures that Nabob beans are grown to their highest possible standards – 100 of them. These standards ensure that soils, waterways and wildlife habitat are protected and that farm workers enjoy decent housing, access to medical care and schools for their children. Rainforest Alliance certification also minimizes the use of harmful pesticides and only allows the use of clean water on the farms.

The cup of coffee you choose counts. The more people buy sustainably grown beans, the more farms will grow them. Help us get to 100% (all you have to do is drink a great cup of coffee).

Better Planet. Greener Practices
At Nabob, we consider the environmental impact of our coffee, from production to transportation to the landfill. We’re pursuing more earth-friendly, water-friendly, people-friendly ways to improve our process. We’re committed to redesigning our supply chain and developing innovative new packaging to reduce our footprint. We want to communicate our progress to Canadians and express why it matters.
Swiss Water Process®
As part of our commitment to environmental responsibility, the Nabob Coffee Company uses the Swiss Water® Process, a guaranteed 100% chemical free decaffeination method that is certified organic. Pure water from the British Columbia Coast Mountains is used to gently remove the caffeine, while preserving the unique characteristics of the coffee. The result is a delicious cup of Nabob decaf coffee.
